Yellow Monday's work is influenced by a background in printmaking (intaglio), as well as textile printing and design (screen printing). Recently YM's images have incorporated digital elements, but they has always retained a strong emphasis on textures being hand drawn and painted.

The images are also influenced by YM's background as a freelance video producer at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum. 

PS - Yellow Monday is the name of a particular cicada found only in Australia.
