We love Dena Drake's life story almost as much as we love her ultra-cute origami inspired felt brooches. Originally from the Alaskan town of Bethel (Pop. 6,000), Dena is part Yup-ik Eskimo and Atahbascan Indian.

Dena has a BA in Fine Arts from a University in Colorado, and has also studied Painting in Spain. She has furthered her studies in El Salvador, Mexico, Spain and the Virgin Islands, as well as teaching English in South Korea and Kazahkstan. She is now finishing her Masters degree in Two Dimensional and Digital Design at Perth's Edith Cowan University.
