Inspired by the delicacy and fine qualities of native flowers, Melbourne jeweller Mary Odorcic creates beautiful pieces of work that are raw and elegant. A graduate of RMIT, Mary has been making her jewellery for almost three years.
Each piece involves the twisting, cutting and hammering of silver wire into geometric and organic shapes which are then brought together using coloured silk thread. Added to some pieces are small resin and coral chips, as well as colourful freshwater pearls, though never to the point where a piece is over-powered by the colour. With Mary, less is more.
