Born in Japan, Kyo migrated with her family to Australia when she was ten years old. Unlike most migrants, her family settled in the Australian outback, where Kyo soon developed a love of collecting small objects from around her backyard.

This passion for collecting eventually lead Kyo to pursue a career in Jewellery design. In 2002 she graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Sydney and has since exhibited her beautiful pieces both nationally and abroad.

Her unique, organic and almost edible designs are influenced by Art Deco forms as well as cute Japanese kawaii aesthetics. Kyo's love for the craft of jewellery design is evident through her attention to detail and quality in each piece she produces. Kyo was a finalist in the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards for her jewellery collection in 2005 and 2006, and is currently working on 3rd collection from her new studio in the Netherlands.
