From his very small, single man workshop in Richmond, designer Joe Chester has begun to carve out (pardon the pun) a living from reworking salvaged and recycled bits of wood.

Having grown up surrounded by Tasmanian forests and possessing a natural enjoyment of working with his hands to create a piece of art or jewellery, Joe has a natural ability that translates into all of his one-off pieces.

The necklaces now available on Moose are effective in their simplicity; each one cut differently as Joe saw the piece of wood best being formed. The splashes of colour on the edges and sides add a contemporary and fashionable style to a natural object.
