Sim’s current works are the result of a recent residency in Southern Indiana, where both nature and the human body have provided a focal point for her ongoing enquiry into the transience of things. Sim’s elegant and textured pieces invite the viewer to closely examine the recurring but ever-changing patterns on the surface of her jewellery. Simple and understated, her works resonate with an other-worldly quality. Sim is currently developing a body of work that incorporates a vast collection of jewellery pieces, where each piece is integrated into an increasingly complex 3D design.
